About Us

St. Patrick's Division No.1

From Hunger to Hope

The story of the Irish people is one of hardship, resilience, and unwavering community. In the 1840s, during the Great Hunger, more than a million Irish men, women, and children had to abandon their homeland, not in search of opportunity, but simply to survive. Many others perished from starvation. Those who arrived in America carried with them a lasting understanding: no one should face hunger alone.

That truth continues to guide us today.

The Ancient Order of Hibernians St. Patrick Division No. 1 proudly kicks off it's 2026 initiative to serve the Greater Cincinnati community by supporting families facing food insecurity. Although our community is resilient, the greater Cincinnati area still experiences hardship. There are neighbors among us who quietly struggle to provide their next meal; an often unseen, yet very real challenge.

Inspired by the resilience of those who endured the Great Hunger, our mission is to stand with families in need today, providing food, restoring dignity, and ensuring that no one in our community faces hunger alone.

Guided by the experiences of our ancestors, we believe this responsibility is ours to carry forward.

Through food drives, charitable partnerships, and initiatives like our Quiet Cupboard Network, we work to provide accessible, dignified support to those in need. Our efforts are not simply acts of charity; they are a continuation of a legacy rooted in faith, brotherhood, and service.

This is not just what we do, it is who we are.

We honor our heritage not only by remembering it, but by living it.

Join us in making a difference. Together, we can ensure that no one in our community faces hunger alone.
